Danish Atlantic Youth Seminar
The Danish ATA is proud to announce the 25th annual Danish Atlantic Youth Seminar (DAYS) which will be held on July 5-11 at Aalborg Airbase in the Northern part of Denmark.
DAYS is an event gathering students, experts and practitioners from more than twenty different countries to a week long seminar on security politics, conflict management, networking and socialization.
Through lectures, workshops, panel debates and social activities the seminar will give the participants a unique opportunity to enlarge their intellectual and cultural horizon.

YATA Debate Club in Georgia
By the initiative of Vice President for Public Diplomacy of Youth Atlantic Treaty Association and support of Information Centre on NATO, YATA Debate Club was established in Georgia in January 2010.
Students are given possibility to argue and debate the issues connected to NATO topics in English language.
After a two-staged competition, the finalists of the YATA Debate Club were selected on 19th of February 2010. Honourable board of referees were:
Ms. Kristina Baleisyte, Officer of NATO Public Diplomacy Division’s Liaison office in Tbilisi, Mr. James Moore - Journalist from Current TV,
USA and Ms. Khatuna Bukradze from Information Centre on NATO.
Students debated about NATO enlargement process and ISAF mission. The final of the Debate will be held in the Parliament of Georgia on March 4th 2010.
Best three debaters selected by the committee of referees consisting of Members of Parliament, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry European and Euro-Atlantic Integration will start internships in aforementioned bodies of Georgian Government.
Top three debaters will get internships and probations in Government and Parliament of Georgia.
The winners will deepen their awareness about NATO and Georgian foreign policy issues via volunteering in the committee of Foreign Affairs at Parliament of Georgia, as well as practice half year service at the Department of Security Policy and Euro-Atlantic Integration at Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and get probation at State Ministry on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration. Due to high international interest, Georgian YATA, in the future plans to make YATA Debate Club available for all the YATA community overseas.
GLOBSEC Bratislava Security Conference
On April 19- 20, 2010, the Slovak Atlantic Commission will organise 5th annual GLOBSEC Bratislava Security Conference. The GLOBSEC is the most important international security conference in Central Europe, taking place annually in Bratislava, gathering more than 250 guests: Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Ministers of Defense of NATO and EU members states, decision- makers, opinion- makers, distinct analysts and journalists both from the region and Euro- Atlantic area. Summer School of the University of Economics in Bratislava
Story of the Central Europe after 1989 – The Transformation Process
The University of Economics in Bratislava, the Vienna University of Economics and Business and the University of Economics - Prague would be delighted to welcome foreign students on an unique joint Summer School designed for students from all over the world, interested in the topic, who would like to learn more about the region of Central Europe and its transition process after 1989 from totalitarian regime with planned economy to democracy with a free market.

Transatlantic Youth Forum for South Eastern Europe and the 3rd Annual Turkish-Greek Youth dialogue
From December 17th to December 20th, the Greek Association for Atlantic and European Cooperation is organizing Transatlantic Youth Forum for South Eastern Europe and the 3rd Annual Turkish-Greek Youth dialogue, organized in conjunction with their annual International Symposium, now reaching its 17th year.
These events, organized under the auspices of the NATO Public Diplomacy, will be focused on the NATO’s new strategic concept. GAAEC, indeed, considers it a responsibility to contribute to the dialogue that is already in progress. The conclusions will be forwarded to the NATO Experts Committee and the Secretary General of NATO, to be considered as a contribution from the Civil Society affected.
The young participants selected will be required to start the discussion prior to the events through the GAAEC web page Forum (www.gaaec.org/?q=en/forum), as the groundwork to the discussions on site.

YATA General Assembly, Kiev, Ukraine, October 7-9 2009
The 14th YATA General Assembly took place in Kiev, Ukraine from the 7th to the 9th of October 2009, under the general theme “60 Years of NATO and looking ahead.” The General Assembly usually represents the early occasion to review the work and activities performed in the past year, to elaborate the way forward and discuss some of the most challenging issues for the Atlantic Community. This year General assembly was organized with the gracious support of the Atlantic Council of Ukraine, the Atlantic Treaty Association, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the NATO-Ukraine Civil League and the Naumann Stiftung Foundation.
The Riga Conference 2009, October 23-24, 2009
From October 23 to October 24, 2009 in the Maza Gilde (the Small Guild) the Riga Conference 2009 entitled “Economic Recovery in a Changing Security Environment: Transatlantic Agenda 2010” will take place. For the fourth time already Riga will gather heads of states, the world’s leading academicians, politicians, representatives from non-governmental organizations, commentators and journalists to continue with the high level international discussions on foreign and security policy issues.
14th Portuguese Atlantic Youth Seminar
The Portuguese Atlantic Committee and the Portuguese Atlantic Youth Association are organizing the 14th Portuguese Atlantic Youth Seminar.This year the Seminar will be held at Alfeite Naval Academy, near Lisbon, from the 1st (arrival) to the 8th of August (departure). The lectures and educational activities of this seminar will discuss the drafting of NAT0’s new strategic concept. For this purpose, Portuguese and foreign researchers and policy-makers will be invited to have fruitful discussions with the participants. Furthermore, a set of social activities will be arranged in order to allow everyone to have a pleasant stay in Portugal.
Summer School in Bratislava
Central European Studies: Transformation Process.
The Euro-Atlantic Center is co-organizing with the University of Economics of Bratislava, the University of Vienna and the University of Prague a two weeks long Summer School on "Political and Economic Transformation of Central Europe after 1989: Successes and pitfalls". The program of the Summer School is a combination of interactive lessons, case studies and excursions to various locations in Slovakia and other Central European states to provide a comprehensive and authentic “Slovak Story” associated with the particular topic of study and to compare this story with the experience of other Central European states.
Crisis Management Simulation
From the 12th to the 18th of July, 15 YATA members will participate to the fourth international Crisis Management simulation organized by the Queen’s Centre for International Studies and Mannheim University in Kingston, Canada. The scenario for the simulation will be the current state of affairs in Afghanistan. This simulation will make use of few standardized procedures – allowing for a natural and unobstructed process in which participants will analyze the diplomatic, military and economic aspects of the situation in Afghanistan.
NATO in 2020: What role will the Alliance have?
Three hundred young people of fifty-seven nationalities will celebrate the 60th anniversary of NATO and contemplate the Alliance's future during a three day Youth Summit organized in Strasbourg from the 1st to the 4th of April.
The Youth Atlantic Treaty Association will participate to the event with a consistent delegation of international students and young professionals.
The Danish Atlantic Youth Seminar 2009
Seminar on diplomacy and crisis management in the backyard of Europe.
From the 6 to 12 of July the Danish chapter of the Atlantic Treaty Association has organized the 24th annual Danish Atlantic Youth Seminar - DAYS. The Seminar will be held at the Airbase of Aalborg.
The guest list includes international students representing over twenty different nationalities as well as renowned scholars, all at the top of their fields. Through academic and social exercises the seminar will give young students from across the globe a unique opportunity to enlarge their intellectual and cultural horizon.
YATA General Assembly
From the 8th to the 12th of November, the 13th General Assembly of the Youth Atlantic Treaty Association has taken place in Berlin. More than 130 YATA Delegates have participated to two day conference, having the opportunity to meet with delegates coming from all the 39 YATA Chapters, as well as from partners countries and youth associations.
Akhaltsikhe International Security Seminar
nGnI, the Information Centre on NATO in Georgia and Latvian Transatlantic Organisation (LATO) are currently implementing the Akhaltsikhe International Security Seminar (AISS) - a 4-day long intensive seminar, with the support of the Latvian and Georgian Ministries of Defence.
